A. cytoactive® is specially formulated for facial and cosmetic post-procedural use and is ideal due to its specific strength and consistency. Only available for purchase by medical professionals, the ultra-concentrated cytoactive® gel has the viscosity of ultra sound jelly. It is typically used post-injection and for cosmetic massages. This professional-strength version can help provide your patients with less down time due to less post-procedural bruising, which translates to higher patient satisfaction for your practice.
A. The ingredients are simple, pure and effective. cytoactive® is made up of Glycerin (glycerol), Purified Water, Evening Primrose Oil, Vitamin E Oil (tocopheryl acetate), Vitamin C (ascorbic acid), and Carbomer (a thickening agent). As a person ages, the skin can get thinner so there is less padding to protect the capillaries. The emollients and vitamins in the CytoActive gel-creme for bruises super hydrate the skin and quickly penetrate directly to help prevent the “pooling” of blood that becomes a bruise. Glycerin, a humectant, is allowed to penetrate through the skin and acts as the delivery agent for itself and the other ingredients directly to the area where a bruise may form as the result of broken capillaries due to various procedures. The vitamin E’s antioxidant properties help protect cell membranes as well as smooth the surface and dermal layers of the skin. Evening primrose oil contains gamma linolenic acid (GLA), an omega-6 fatty acid which has been known to help many minor skin conditions for centuries. Vitamin C helps skin appear brighter and youthful. Together with the water, our ingredients quickly absorb directly into the area and help prevent the pooling of released blood that would remain and result in a bruise lasting for several days.
A. In addition to post filler injections and Botox injections, many patients have reported reduced bruising after sclerotherapy treatments as well as certain laser treatments. Dentists, eye and oral surgeons who have used cytoactive® report cases with less bruising when the gel-creme was used 2-3 times a day post procedure. cytoactive® may be beneficial for any facial and cosmetic procedures that have a high frequency of non-treatment-related bruising.
A. Post-procedural bruising is the single most common non-treatment related complaint. It is ideal and safe to apply cytoactive® following injections or other cosmetic, dental or surgical procedures. The patient is advised to re-apply 2-3 times a day for the best results.
A. There have been no reported adverse reactions to cytoactive®. The patient can use cytoactive® as often as needed to reduce or eliminate post-procedural bruising.
A.The specially formulated gel crème is a professional strength post-procedural bruise relief solution. It begins immediately to diminish or eliminate bruising. cytoactive® gel-creme for bruises is safe to use in conjunction with most medications such as blood thinners.
A. Yes, research has been conducted to validate what customers have reported for years — cytoactive® works to help reduce the appearance of bruising. Dr. Mary Lupo completed a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled split-face, within-subject evaluation of our Bruise Relief serum in April of 2009. The results of the 25-person study revealed 65% of those patients who bruised at all realized a significant reduction in the frequency, severity and duration of bruising with a single post-procedural application of the product versus the placebo. Probability values were 0.0796 and 0.0727 for day-1 and day-7, respectively. The product was reported to be well tolerated with no side effects. The study contributed to the new new doctor-only distributed cytoactive® gel-crème for bruises. It is now available as a back bar 8 oz. airless pump dispenser for in-office use and 1 oz. bottles for patients.
