Eclipse Aesthetics held a great micro-needling and microcannula training workshop on Saturday May 10th in Newport Beach. Our certified Eclipse trainer for the workshop was Dr. Nissan Pilest, who is a board certified dermatologist with over 34 years of experience. With so many people interested in adding the Eclipse Micropen
and Magic Needles to their practice we had a really great turn out.
Dr. Nissan Pilest gave a great lecture on micro-needling with the Eclipse MicroPen. Many practitioners have only been using the Eclipse MicroPen for facial treatments and Dr. Pilest discussed the use all over the patients body. You can use the Eclipse MicroPen for any skin types which allows any patient to treat any area of skin.
Most attendees had been introduced to the Eclipse MicroPen before the workshop, but many came to learn more about the Magic Needle
for injections. The Magic Needle is a perfect balance between rigidity and flexibility that allows the physician to control the movement without damaging the skin. The Magic Needle also slides into the skin without traumatizing it.
Dr. Pilest introduced a new injection concept, which is a 3 phase injection technique. With a starter needle, the practitioner makes a small single entry puncture corresponding to a caliber higher than the Magic Needle. Then the Magic Needle is inserted into the skin using a sliding movement. In order for the needle to slide, the skin has to be stretched in the opposite direction to that in which the Magic Needle is moving. Once the Magic Needle is in position, the injection is performed in a retrograde manner by progressively withdrawing the Magic Needle.
